Copy Editing

Your project is SOLID, but you need help in making sure your writing is logical, organized, and professional-looking. I will help you keep your writing concise, clear, consistent, and I’ll clean up your grammar and syntax, too!

This is a great option for large projects, like novels and term-papers, but also for smaller ones, like blogs and Facebook posts.

Send me your Word or Google Doc, and I’ll make my suggestions.

Developmental Editing

Your first draft is DONE! You made it to the end of your story, but you’re wondering if your readers are going to find plot holes or really believe in your characters. How can you take your writing to the next level and make it look professional? That’s when you need a developmental editor to partner with you, be invested in your project, and help make your story the epic tale you always dreamed of. I will read your work three times and schedule a phone or Zoom call for each step.

Step 1:

I highlight areas in the plot that can be strengthened and characters that could be more well-rounded. I don’t leave you hanging, though! I give you tips and specifics on what you can do to develop your story further, heighten the drama, strengthen your theme, and create realistic relationships between your characters.

Step 2:

After you’ve made some adjustments, I’ll read your work again to further examine the plot and characters. I’ll then pay more attention to your dialogue and see where it can be strengthened (and anything else I’m noticing). Again, I’ll give you specifics on how to reinforce your purpose, theme, character, and plot.

Step 3:

You’re nearing the finish line! I will read your work all the way through one more time. This is part where we clean up loose ends and get it ready for copy editing or proofreading.

After this last step, you can contact me with questions any time! I will be happy to look over any specific areas you feel need some more help!

I work best with Word or Google Docs.
